Total Ban On Endosulfan Called By Ministers Total Ban On Endosulfan Called By Ministers: On Saturday Forest Minister Binoy Viswam called out for a complete ban on endosulfan. He claimed that the Central Government was acting very unkind towards the fatalities of the endosulfan tragedy by holding up a ban on the pesticide.


On Saturday speaking out in the press conference here after having a meeting with the forest authorities and environmentalists, he expressed out that officers by the State shall plead the Centre govt. to put a ban on endosulfan at a meeting which was planned in New Delhi dated November 23.






He as well criticized the selection of C D Mayee as chief of the board investigating into the side-effects of the pesticide. Mayee had formerly leaded a committee which comprised favorably stated on endosulfan usage.


The Minister's ordered for complete prohibition on endosulfan arrives in the stir of a State Pollution Control Board placing a prohibition on its use all around the State. Before, the ban was only in Kasargod district.


On November 23 a top leaded conference is also to be organized by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan here to talk about the endosulfan subject in Kasargod.
