National Advisory Council Urges Cheap Grains For Masses On Saturday the National Advisory Council (NAC) started by Sonia Gandhi suggested, a plan of boosting food fall down which could make wider the financial statement debit but secure voter support for the ruling party if it is executed.

The council suggested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for enlarging subsidies to 75% of the billion-plus population. The PM is harassed with persistently high food prices that make threats to corrode the Congress’ political support.






National Advisory Council insists to make inexpensive grains for sufficient. Previously India endows with cheap grains and pulses to almost 180 million poor or low-income families during a public distribution system.


The system will cost nearly USD 12 billion in the year to end-March 2011, including the reference to 1% of GDP and 5% of total government spending.
