New Secretariat Building Chennai

New Secretariat Building Chennai, On Saturday the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh along with Congress President Sonia Gandhi will fly to Chennai to inaugurate the new Tamil Nadu Assembly and Secretariat building complex. According to the reports the new complex has cost the state Rs 450 crores. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi who inspected the new Secretariat complex on Friday will be on Saturday looking after the whole proceedings. The Governor of the state Surjit Singh Barnala is also scheduled to address the inauguration. The inauguration function will be held on Saturday evening.





The Tamil Nadu assembly was being held at the Fort St. George complex for the last 53 years. The State Budget session will be held at the new Assembly complex on March 19. The new complex of which only the Assembly building is ready as of now, is a unique architectural creation. The new secretariat building in Chennai is a unique green architectural building which will be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by planting a sapling before the inauguration, according to sources. The function will continue for one hour according to the present time schedule and is likely to get over around 6 PM. The guests will be welcomed by theAssembly Speaker R. Avudaiappan and Chief Secretary K.S Sripathi is scheduled to address the vote of thanks.


Eminent personalities and politicians are going to be present at the inauguration function of the new Secretariat building in Chennai. Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yeddyurappa will grace the occasion with their presence. The Puducherry Chief Minister V. Vaidyalingam will also come to attend theinauguration ceremony.
