Srinagar : The militants struck at three locations in northern Kashmir Sopore, leaving two policemen wounded as curfew remains in effect for areas affected by violence in the valley for the fourth day today.
Army, which had organized marches flag in Srinagar, not to repeat the exercise this morning. The district administration has asked the force to stay on standby for deployment in emergencies.
The authorities have worked on plans to gradually give relaxation in the curfew to allow people to offer prayers.
The chief minister Omar Abdullah reviewed the morning of the situation with the directors and senior police officials and discussed the plan to relax curfew in light of Friday prayers and Shab-e-Mehraj, a religious function, tomorrow.
Omar has also convened a meeting of all parties in Srinagar on Monday to discuss the current situation.(
