Air India Crash Flight Accident VideosFlight Accident Videos: Air India Crash, Breaking news, Air crash in India, Air India Express regrets to announce that a B737-800 aircraft operating as flight IX-812 from Dubai to Mangalore was involved in an accident early this morning, May 22, 2010. The plane tried to land about 6 am Saturday, it overshot the runway and crashed. The accident occurred after the aircraft landed at Mangalore airport and overshot the runway. Mangalore airport is about 19 miles outside of Mangalore city. Air India official Jitender Bhargava the plane carried 160 passengers and six crew members. Officials in the state of Karnataka said only six or seven might have survived. According to reports, Z Glucia was an experienced pilot and familiar with Mangalore terrain and had been on this route several times before. It was only after landing that things went horribly wrong. Thereafter, the plane overshot the runway and went straight into the valley and caught fire.





Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh expressed his commiserations at the huge loss of lives due to the Air India crash in Mangalore today. The Prime Minister said that the families of the deceased will be receiving an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs and the injured would be compensated an amount of Rs. 50,000 from the National Relief Fund of the Prime Minister. He also said that all probable support will be provided to the family who lost their loved ones.
